Vraie force/True strenght

Bonsoir! Quel bonheur de produire quelques pages et documenter quelques jolis moments de notre vie! En voici un de ces derniers, vécu il y a 3 semaines à peine. Cette photo est un simple coup de chance, ma fille ayant attrapé "sa" pomme et qui pouvait la lâcher à chaque instant, bougeant vite et surtout se tenant un peu trop près de moi... Alors d'autant plus, ça méritait une page!

Hello! How good does that feel to make some pages and document some nice moments of our life! Here's one of those, that happened about three weeks ago. This picture is practically a miracle! My daughter was fighting to catch the apple in a basin full of water with her teeth and persevered till she's accomplished the task (she didn't accept any help or proposition of replacement - that's the story behind the page). She was suddenly there in front of me, holding the apple in her mouth, moving a bit too quickly and most of all way to close... All the reasons to make a layout! 

Sinon, les nouvelles cartes sont apparues sur Scrapdeco. Mais avant de vous enfuir là-bas, voilà la version beta d'une d'entre elle, réalisée avec des papiers d'un des kits précédents.

Pages jumelles / Twin layouts

Bonsoir! La fête sur Page Maps continue ou en tout cas certains défis sont toujours en cours. J'ai choisi de continuer de jouer et voici le sketch suivant.

Hello! It's still party time over at Page Maps or at least some of the challenges are still up. I've chosen to play along again and here's the next sketch.

Le défi dans ce cas particulier consistait a transformer cette version plutôt élégante en version plus masculine. Et plus précisément, de remplacer la forme des fleurs par autre chose moins "girly". Voilà une excuse parfaite pour scrapper enfin la fête d'anniversaire de mon grand (n'ayons pas peur de ce mot, il devient vraiment grand!!!) Evidemment, une photo ça ne le fait pas donc j'en ai choisi quatre, celle qui le mieux représentent cette fête. 

The challenge in this case was to transform this rather elegant sketch into something more masculine. And most particularly to replace the flower embellishment by something less "girly". A perfect excuse for me to finally scrap the pictures of my big boy's birthday party (let's face it, he's really becoming a big boy!!!) Clearly, one picture will not suffise so I've chosen four that represent best this party.

Par le choix de papier le choix de l'embellissement était simple: une tourte à ressort!

By the choice of paper, the choice of the embellishment was simple: the cake on a spring!

Puis, j'ai quand même réutilisé ce sketch pour une page sur ma fille. Mais j'ai poussé le bouchon un peu plus loin en tournant le sketch de 90° à droite. Voyez plutôt:

Then, I reused the sketch for a layout about my daughter. But I went a step further by turning the sketch 90° to the right. Like this:

Comme déjà dit dans le billet précédent, j'aime bien écrire un "portrait" de mes enfants à des âges particulier. Je me dis que ce sera amusant de relire tout ça d'ici quelques années. Comme on "grandit" avec nos enfants, on ne voit pas certains changements, puis on oublie si facilement. De cette façon on peut enregistrer ce qui est frappant...

As I've already said in the previous post, I like to write "portraits" of my children at certain stages. I think it's going to be interesting to read them in a few years. As we "grow up" with our children, we are unable to see some changes and we forget so easily. This way we can "stop the time" and record what's important...

De nouveau quelques libertés prises par rapport au sketch et de nouveau des fleurs peintes sur du papier aquarelle. Et la bougie! :)

Again, some changes to the sketch and some more flowers painted on watercolor paper. And the candle, obviously! :)

Page Maps

Hello! Page Maps fêtent leur 7e anniversaire. Et sur leur blog il y a plein de défis (avec des prix évidemment!) La nature de ces défis c'est naturellement d'interpréter des sketches. Ca tombe bien pour moi, ça me motive et fait avancer des choses sur mon bureau! :) Je cherchais justement une idée pour un "portrait" de mon fils. Je l'ai intitulée "6 et poussières" puisque son anniversaire a eu lieu il y a 3 mois et c'est seulement maintenant que les phrases se sont enfin formulées dans ma tête. Et il y en avait tellement que la partie prévue pour le journaling sur le sketch n'était pas suffisante. Voyez plutôt:

Hello! Page Maps are celebrating their 7th birthday. On their blog there's a ton of challenges (and prizes by the way!) Challenges that consist in interpreting some sketches obviously. It's really a good thing, it motivates me and makes things move on my desk! :) I was in dire need of an idea for making a "portrait" of my son. I titled it "6-something" since his birthday was 3 months ago and it's only now that sentences started forming in my head. And there were so many that the space provided for the journaling in the sketch was not enough. Just have a look:

Et voici ma version. Des choses se sont un peu déplacées ci et là. J'ai aussi utilisé une photo pas floue de la même session de la dent tombée... Pour ce sketch en particulier il était question de mixer des papiers imprimés. J'ai choisi de travailler avec mon nouveau bloque de 6 x 6 de Studio Calico. Le papier à bordure rouge était parfait pour le journaling et n'était pas écrasant. L'autre papier était assez discret et la bande jaune m'a servie d'encrer le titre. En même temps toutes ces couleurs sont présentes dans la photo de mon garçon.  

And here's my version. Things shifted around a bit. I also used a well zoomed picture from the same "fallen-tooth" photo session... For this particular sketch the little extra challenge was to mix some patterned papers. I've chosen to work with my new Studio Calico 6 x 6 pad. The red border paper was perfect for my long journaling and wasn't too "heavy", color-wise. The other paper was discreet and the yellow faux tape served me well to anchor the title. And the same time all those colours are present in my son's pic.

Comme le veut la tradition j'ai utilisé la bougie du gâteau d'anniversaire...

As tradition wants it, I used his birthday's cake candle...

Cette fois j'ai couvert les chipboards de Distress Stickles couleur vieil or.

This time I covered the raw chipboards with Distress Stickles in old gold.
