Un autre! / Another one!

Bonsoir!

Hello! I'm back for a quick post with another tag. I had a sudden inspiration to make tags for my kids. I used a digital kit by Hero Arts to create something fun my small ones could like.

I printed the image twice and cut out one of them. I colored it with a gel pen Stardust. I added felt elements, goggly eyes, snaps and an orange cardstock nose. Other parts of the tag were covered with watercolor paper colored with a Distress ink and sprayed with pearlized water. The base image was clear embossed with a background stamp. Some Stickles here and there for more shine...

I hesitated a while to write my son's name by hand but in the end, that's what makes it personal, doesn't it? :) And don't worry, I haven't forgotten my girl! Simply, I wanted to enter this tag into the monthly HA challenge (deadline tonight) and I had to make haste before the Sun went down. That's why the Stickles touches you see on the picture are still wet... That's it, have a good night!

Tags!

Bonsoir!

Hello! I' have finally started making gift tags! Nothing like the Hero Arts contest... For the first one I used the Glossy resist technique, just as on this card. I just changed colors and the background stamp.

Two following tags are made from watercolor paper (thanks Alexandra!) and I made them according to Jennifer MacGuire's video on Two Peas. I changed slightly the technique since I've added an embossed background stamp for more texture. Then I covered the piece with a Distress ink (Pumice Stone) and added lots of Perfect Pearls powder. Next, I sprayed it with lots of water and zapped with the heat gun. The result is really nice, looks like a silver paper!

On the last one I changed the embossing powder for the tone on tone effect. And the ornament was stamped with a pigment ink and embossed with the holographic powder. I must say that the shine pleases me very much!

Matériel: papier aquarelle Canson et cdc Migros; tampons HA; encres Ranger, Clearsnap et Tsukienko; poudres à embosser Artemio et Stampendous; Perfect Pearls Ranger; ficelle, ruban

Card Patterns #82 et.../and...

Hello!

Hi! Where to start? Maybe with the new Card Patterns sketch. We have a new sponsor,Creative Clear Stamps, who sent us a few stamps to play with. I've chosen to play with theTurkey Day set...

If look closely at this set, there's only one turkey, one small turkey. how come then that there's another one on my card, a much bigger one? Here's the secret! I stamped this image on a copy paper, scanned it and blew it out in PSE. Then I printed it on white cardstock. Afterwards, I colored it with watercolor pencils and worked over with a wet paint brush for more smooth result. Goggly eyes for some fun and that's it!

Matériel: cdc Migros, papier aquarelle Canson; tampons Creative Clear Stamps; encres Ranger; crayons de couleur Caran d'Ache; perforatrice MS; yeux mobiles, machine à coudre

Now, here are two tags I made for Anne's challenge. Since the end of July, she's having a great technique series about how to use Distress inks, paints and other products. Her challenge for September is to create a tag with at least 3 techniques she was talking about. I wasn't very glad with my first try. Embossing went great! But when I tried water stamping, things got worse. I think it's because I did it with a clear stamps and there was too much water on it. Hence this rather awful place on the high left (I compare it to an octopus!) To save my tag, I added another color of Distress inks and water stamped again but with a background stamp. I also dyed the string with another Distress ink.

For the second tag, I used basically the same techniques plus I made those faux epoxy embellishments. First I stamped the leaves and then I embossed them 3 times with UTEE. This can be seen better on the second picture.

Voilà pour ce soir. Mais je vous dis à tout bientôt! ;-)

That's for tonight. But I say see you very soon! ;-)
