Tout a commencé avec un papillon vert, tamponné avec une encre Distress et embossé avec une poudre transparente, qui traînait sur mon bureau depuis des semaines. Je lui ai fais un copain et placé les deux sur une dentelle en papier. Puis, j'ai fais un fond sur papier aquarelle en vieux rose et du coup le papillon vert n'allait plus trop. Alors puisque j'ai décidé de refaire au moins un papillon, pourquoi pas deux et un peu plus grands. Et de fil en aiguille ma carte finale n'a plus tout à fait les mêmes éléments mais elle suit toujours le sketch d'Everything But the Kitchen Sink (que j'ai retourné)...

Everything started with a green Distress stamped and clear embossed butterfly that was on my desk like forever. I made another one and placed both of them on a paper doily. Then I made a watercolor paper background in old pink and suddenly the green butterfly didn't match anymore. So I decided to make another on, a bigger one, and maybe even two. And at the end, my final card didn't carry the same elements as I wanted at the beginning. But it still follows EBTKS sketch (that I turned upside down)...

Ce sont donc toujours des papillons tamponnés avec l'encre Distress et embossés avec une poudre transparente. Pour leur donner un peu plus d'éclat, j'ai remplie les espaces blancs avec le stylo Versamarks et je les ai vite saupoudrés avec la poudre à effet scintillant. J'ai aussi fais moi-même les pins avec les perles. La taille de la carte est énorme par rapport à celles que je fais d'habitude, 13 sur 18 centimètres! Par contre, mon petit papillon vert est toujours sur mon bureau. Mais il a un copain pour lui tenir compagnie! :)

These are again Distress stamped and clear embossed butterflies. To give them some more shine, I filled the blank spaces with Versamark pen and embossed those with holographic embossing powder. I also made the pins with pearls. The size of the card is enormous compared to those I make usually, 5.1 x 7.1 inched! And the little green butterfly is still sitting on my desk. But at least it has a purple companion! :)

Défi Card Patterns challenge #66

Cette carte va aussi participer au défi d'Everything But the Kitchen Sink où il s'agit d'utiliser l'émaille pour les ongles sur sa réa. Ici, j'en ai couvert le petit cadre ainsi que les lettres qui étaient noires et trop voyantes à mon goût. Et voilà qu'avec un coup de mini pinceau tout s'est arrangé pour le mieux! Bonne nuit à tous!

This card will also take part in the current Everything But the Kitchen Sink challenge. It's all about using nail polish on one's card. Here, I covered in it the frame and the chipboard letters which were black and too obvious for my taste. And just a touch of the tiny brush made it all perfect! Have a good night!

Défi EBTKS challenge

Bonjour! Voici le weekend de Pâques est fini et la nouvelle semaine a demarré. Il est temps de vous présenter ma proposition pour le nouveau défi d'EBTKS (qui peut se traduire comme Tout Sauf l'Evier de la Cuisine). Cette fois-ci il s'agit d'utiliser du fil sur notre création. Cela peut être du fil, de la ficelle etc. Ma carte est super simple et utilise du cotton mouliné comme au temps où la broderie ne quittait pas mes mains...

Hello! Easter weekend is over and new week is here. So it is time to present you my submission for EBTKS challenge. It is all about using string, twine, floss etc. My card is super simple and uses embroidery floss - I used to be a cross-stitch-holic but never thought I'd stitch on a piece of paper!
