Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - in the spotlight!

Hello hello! Today I have cool news to share! I was invited to be in the Designer Spotlight by the SSS Wednesday Challenge blog the whole month of August. There are 5 Wednesdays in August so lucky me! :)

Bonjour, aujourd'hui j'ai une chouette nouvelle à partager. J'ai été invitée par le blog de défis de Simon Says Stamp comme créative tout le mois d'août. Il y a 5 mercredis ce mois-ci, quelle chance 
alors! :)

The first challenge is Fabulous Florals and we are showcasing Hero Arts products. You don't have to use them but if you have them, feel free to use them! Here's my card for this challenge:

Le premier défi de ce mois porte sur les fleurs et toute l'équipe utilise des produits de Hero Arts. Pour participer au défi vous n'êtes pas obligés de les utiliser mais si vous en avez, alors ne vous en privez pas! Et voici ma proposition pour ce défi:

I used this older large background stamp because I wanted to cover images with Perfect Pearls pigment powder (but THIS one could also work I think). And I did using two colors, Perfect Pearls and Forever Blue. It looks good on black cardstock (and this one looks good on white!)

J'ai utilisé ce plus très recent tampon parce que je voulais couvrir l'image avec la poudre Perfect Pearls (CE tampon pourrait aussi faire l'affaire). Ce que j'ai fait en utilisant deux couleurs de cette poudre: Perfect Pearls et Forever Blue (ça donne bien sur du carton noir ce qui à son tour donne bien sur du carton blanc!)

I've stamped and heat embossed the sentiment with white powder on some vellum and added some glittery accents using glitter paper (punch, gems).

J'ai tamponné et embossé à chaud le sentiment avec de la poudre blanche sur du papier calque et j'ai ajouté quelques accents faits dans du papier à paillettes (emporte-pièce, diamants).

Hello, when I hear: "Add some shimmer", I get busy! Still in the same chapter of thank you teacher cards, here are two that follow the same design:

J'ai utilisé les tampons du courant kit carterie de Scrapdeco pour les fleurs. En ce qui concerne le panneau de base, il a été encré avec trois couleurs des encres Distress puis recouvert avec la poudre à pigment, Perfect Pearls. Tout à la fin j'ai utilisé un classeur de gauffrage de We R Memory Keepers.

I used stamps from the current Scrapdeco's card kit for the flowers. The main panel was covered with three Distress inks and covered with some Perfect Pearls powder. At the end I sent it through the Big Shot machine with a We R Memory Keepers embossing folder.

Quand on incline la carte on voit bien la brilliance...

When one tilts the card, one can see all the shimmer. Isn't it lovely?

Color Throwdown Challenge

Bonjour, aujourd'hui il y a du soleil plein la maison ce qui va bien avec ce défi couleur.

Hello, today there's plenty of Sun outside and inside, too, which goes well with this color challenge.

J'aime beaucoup les couleurs flashy et comme je suis en plein dans la fabrication des cartes de remerciements pour les maîtresses, je me suis lancée.

I love those flashy colors and since I'm working on last minute thank you teacher cards, I got busy.

J'ai utilisé du papier aquarelle, les encres Distress et pour la première fois un set de tampons de Simon Says Stamp. Les découpes lettres sont de Hero Arts. C'est probablement difficile à voir sur la photo mais j'ai ajouté un peu de brilliance sur certaines fleurs avec le marqueur Wink of Stella. Le carton noir derrière les lettres est lui aussi brilliant.

I used watercolor paper, Distress inks and for the very first time a stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. Die cut letters are from Hero Arts. It's probably hard to see but I've added some shine to some flowers with the Wink of Stella marker. The black cardstock behind the letters is also shiny.

 Quand je l'ai vu j'ai tout de suite pensé au médaillon qu'on décerne aux gagnants et j'ai réalisé le mien avec un morceau de (très) vieux papier Burda... Mais pour que ça marche j'ai du tourner le sketch de 90°.

When I saw it, I've immediately thought of the prizes that the winners get and I made mine out of a piece of a (very) old Burda paper... But for it to work, I had to tilt the sketch 90° to the right.

 Hello, hier mon fils a été invité à l'anniversaire d'un copain. Et comme le veut la coutume, je lui ai fait une carte. Ce qui va bien pour le défi du mercredi dernier de Simon Says Stamp.

Hello, Yesterday my son was invited to a friend's birthday party. As the tradition wants it, I made a card for him. And this is just perfect for the last SSS Wednesday challenge!

Tamponnages, superposition, encrage, quelques taches, embossage à chaud et quelques autres éléments c'est ma recette pour cette carte.

Stamping, superposition, inking, some ink splattering, heat embossing and some other elements, that's my recipe for this card.

May CCC de Mai

Bonjour, voilà la suite de l'inspiration blue lagon. Une fois la machine lancée, il était difficile de l'arrêter. Et j'ai fait une troisième carte dans les même tons avec plus ou moins la même mise en page. Elle était destinée à Deborah, l'organisatrice de l'échange international des cartes en personne!

Hello, here's the follow up of the blue lagoon inspiration. Once the machine is rolling, it is hard to stop it. So I made a third card in the same ink colors and more less the same design. It sailed to Deborah, the international Card Chain Challenge instigator in person!

Bleu lagon/ Lagoon blue

 Hello, je suis sous le charme de cette combinaison de couleurs: Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio et Peacock Feathers - des encres Distress bien entendu. Si on y ajoute un peu d'or, quelques taches d'eau et de peinture blanche, ça donne à peu près ça.

Hello, I am totally charmed by the following color combination: Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers - Distress inks of course! If we add some gold embossing, water and white paint splashes, the result is this.

C'était une carte pour ma Belle-Maman où j'ai utilisé les photos officielles de l'école de mes enfants.

This was a card for my MIL and I thought it appropriate to use those official school pictures of my kids.

Sur la carte suivante j'avais la main un peu plus lourde avec la première des couleurs puis j'ai mis l'embossage à un autre endroit pour changer de la mise en page de la carte.

On the next card I went a bit more wild with that first color and heat embossed the top portion of the card so that the layout is a bit different.

Hello, quand mon fils est né, plusieurs personnes me donnaient ce conseil: profite! Et à vrai dire c'était un peu difficile à comprendre. Mais plus le temps passe, plus je me rend compte que les moments que nous passons ensemble sont précieux et enfin je fais ce que mes amis me conseillaient - je profite. J'accepte (et donne à outrance parfois!) les bisous, câlins et... les selfies, pourquoi pas?!

Hello, when my son was born, some friends were giving me this advice: take advantage! And to say the truth, it was a bit hard to understand. But the more time passes, the more I realise that the moments we spend together are so precious. And finally I do what my friends were advising - I enjoy those moments. I accept (and generously give!) hugs, kisses and... selfies, why not?!

Hello! My layout made for mid-January sketch challenge over at Stuck?!Sketches got me the Guest Designer invitation for the 15th of March sketch reveal. Here's the sketch:

Et voici ma page. J'ai ressorti des vieilles photos de ma puce d'il y a 5 ans (Comment? Déjà 5 ans???) qui découvrait une barbapapa. Puis j'ai ajouté de la washi, des tampons (sur le fond, pas bien visibles), des découpes et quelques autres bricoles.

And here's my layout. I took out some old pics of my daughter from 5 years ago (How come? 5 already???) who was discovering some cotton candy. I've added some washi tape, stamps (for the background, not well visible), some punched/die-cut shapes and some small odds and ends.

Le papier vient d'un vieux bloc de Lawn Fawn, la bulle en bois - Studio Calico, découpes papillons - Martha Stewart et Penny Black.

 The paper comes from an old paper pad by Lawn Fawn, the wood saying is from Studio Calico, butterfly punches and die-cuts - Martha Stewart and Penny Black.

Et la bouille, c'est 100% de ma fille!!! :)

And that face is 100% my dd!!! :)

Ouste, la neige! / Snow, snow, go away!

 Hello! Je pense que malgré notre hiver pas trop rude, chacun se réjouis de pouvoir profiter plus des rayons de soleil, des jours plus longs, des températures plus agréables... Alors je me dépêche de vous montrer cette carte malgré tout bien hivernale, faite avec le kit Janvier/Février de Scrapdeco. Il était vraiment bien ce kit (je crois que je dis ça de chaque kit composé par Geneviève!) et les tampons y compris étaient d'une qualité exceptionnelle! Ce qui m'a inspiré plein de façon de les utiliser.

Hello! I think that even though the winter we had this year was rather not too harsh, everyone is looking forward to more sunshine, longer days, nice temperatures... So before all this happens, I'll share this wintery card made with January/February Scrapdeco's card kit. It was truly a super kit (I think I say that about each one of the kits created by Geneviève!) and the stamps that were included were of especially good quality! And this inspired me to use them in many ways.

Ici, j'ai tamponné avec de l'encre blanche et colorié ensuite avec un crayon blanc et rouge pour quelques détails. J'ai également souligné quelques autres détails avec un stylo blanc. Le stylo Wink of Stella m'a aidé à ajouter du brilliant sur les écharpes et le bonnet.

Here I've stamped with white ink and then colored some areas with white and red pencils. I've also added eyes and mouth with Sakura gel pen, and added some shine to hat and scarves with Wink of Stella brush pen.

Le "Happy Birthday" est de Hero Arts et les petites perles blanches sont des perles Hama fondues au four... Alors maintenant l'hiver peut s'en aller mais avant, si vous avez envie bien évidemment, vous pouvez visiter le blog de Scrapdeco pour voir d'autres cartes faites avec ce merveilleux kit (ICI et ICI). The "Happy birthday" sentiment comes from Hero Arts and the white beads are in fact Hama beads melted in the oven... So now the winter can go away but before, if you feel like it, you can see some other cards made with the same kit on  Scrapdeco's blog (HERE and HERE). Thanks and see you soon!

A la ronde / Round and round

Bonsoir, quand je fais de l'aquarelle avec des encres et quand j'arrive au bout de l'image et il me reste encore des encres sur ma surface de travail, plutôt que de les essuyer avec un chiffon j'y trempe un morceau de papier aquarelle. Puis une fois sec j'y fais des découpes.

Hello, when I paint with Distress inks and finish an image but there are still inks on my working surface, I can't resolve to simply clean it with a rug. I run a piece of watercolor paper through it instead. Once it is dry, I die cut it.

Pour cette carte j'ai fait une découpe ronde, ajouté des tamponnages, petites découpes et une bande avec les mots embossés en blanc.

For this card, I made a round die cut, stamped some images in black, added some small punched shapes and a sentiment white heat embossed on black strip of paper.

Les dents et les papillons / Teeth and butterflies

Bonsoir, une petite interruption de programme de cartes pour partager une page. Elle date un peu, enfin, du début de l'année, quand ma fille a perdu deux dents en très peu de temps. J'ai aussi reçu ce papier à triangles d'une amie ainsi que ces petites perles blanches (qui en fait sont des perles Hama). Le reste est venu assez naturellement en liaison avec le thème.

Hello, tonight we have a little break in the card program in order to share layout. It's not totally fresh one, well, it's from the beginning of the year when my daughter lost two of teeth in a short time. At that time I also received this patterned triangle paper as well as those white pearls (which are Hama beads actually). The rest came along quite naturally...

La fleur a été réalisée à partir d'un tampon Hero Arts que j'ai tamponné avec une encre très clair pour pouvoir la peindre ensuite avec les encres Distress.

The flower was made with an old Hero Arts stamp that I stamped with a light colored ink and then painted it with Distress inks.

Papillons / Butterflies

 Bonjour, aujourd'hui une autre carte avec les encres Distress utilisée somme des aquarelle. Quand je commence une carte comme ça, j'ai toujours comme des papillons dans le ventre car je ne sais pas ce que ça va donner à la fin. Heureusement, on peut toujours corriger les choses en ajoutant de la couleur ou on en enlevant...

Hello, today I have another card for you with Distress inks used as watercolors. Each time I start a card like that I feel butterflies in my stomach because I don't know how it will end up! Fortunately, one can repare things by adding more color or more water...

Aquarelle / Watercolor

Bonjour, aujourd'hui un autre de mes essais. Je m'exerce à faire de l'aquarelle, ce qui n'est pas entièrement nouveau mais je m'y remets avec un enthousiasme tout frais. En même temps ce sera ma participation au défi mensuel de Hero Arts, Fabulous Flowers.

Hello, today I'm sharing another of my "tests". I'm working on watercoloring which is not entirely new but I'm getting back to it with a fresh enthusiasm. It's going to be at the same time my entry to the Hero Arts' monthly challenge, Fabulous Flowers.

Pour faire le panneau j'ai embossé sur du papier aquarelle ce tampon de fond puis colorié en utilisant plusieurs dégradé de bleu (encres Distress) avec un pinceau. L'eau était mélangée avec de la poudre Perfect Pearls ce qui donne un joli et discret brillant.

To make the panel I white heat embossed this background stamp and then painted using many blues (Distress inks) and a brush. Water was mixed with some Perfect Pearls powder which gives a nice and discreet shine to it.

C'est en regardant les photos que je me rends compte qu'en vrai ça donne nettement mieux... Puis ma fille a voulu s'y mettre aussi et voilà son premier essai. Moi je dis que c'est pas mal du tout!

As I look at the pictures I realise it looks thousand times better in real life... Anyway, my daughter also wanted to give it a try and here's her first watercolor. For a first timer, I think she did just great!

Apprendre / Learning

 Bonsoir, ce soir j'ai pour vous une carte. Dernièrement je regarde pas mal de vidéos qui parlent de techniques de tamponnages ou aquarelle. Et je fais des essais. En voilà un selon une technique présentée par Jennifer McGuire (vidéo détaillée ICI). Je l'ai adaptée à ma sauce ou plutôt à mes resources, à savoir, plutôt que de créer des nouveaux tampons avec des découpes, j'ai simplement tamponné - encre "dye" - les étoiles "pleines" avec le revers du tampon...

Hello, tonight I have a card for you. As of late, I'm watching plenty of videos of stamping techniques or about watercoloring. And I'm trying things out. Here's one of those. I made this card with the technique as presented by Jennifer McGuire (detailed video HERE). I've adapted it to my supplies and instead of making new stamps with foam, I've simply stamped the "plain" stars with the "wrong" side of the stamp (with dye ink)...

...puis j'ai tamponné par dessus - encre "pigment" blanche - avec le bon côté du tampon pour y appliquer ensuite la poudre à pigment - Perfect Pearls (si vous prenez la peine de regarder la vidéo vous comprendrez sans problème de quoi je parle :)).

...and then I've stamped over the image with the good side of the stamp (white pigment ink) and applied Perfect Pearls powder over it (if you take time to watch the video you'll understand what I am talking about :)).

Malheureusement tous les tampons ne conviendront pas à cette technique puisque leur côté envers ne correspond pas tout à fait à l'image du bon côté mais je suis sûre que comme dans mon stock vous trouverez chez vous des tampons pour essayer cette technique. A bientôt!

Unfortunately all the stamps will not work for this technique as their wrong side has not the same shape as the image on the good side. But I am sure that as in my stash you'll find in yours stamps to try out this technique. See you soon!

Bonsoir! Ce soir j'ai pour vous une page. Dernièrement je suis tombée sur un chouette site, Stuck?! Sketches, et leur sketch de la deuxième quinzaine du mois m'a beaucoup plu. Le voici:

Hello! Tonight I have a layout to share. Lately I found a fun site, Stuck?! Sketches, and their January 15th sketch seemed very interesting to me. Here it is:

Pour mes besoin, je l'ai tourné de 90° à gauche.

For the needs of my layout I turned it 90° to the left.

Cette année s'annonce de nouveau plutôt pauvre en neige alors avec d'autant plus de plaisir j'ai ressortis les photos de l'année dernière où la Dame Blanche nous a brièvement rendu visite.

This year seems to be lacking snow again so with a great pleasure I printed those pics from last year when the White Lady visited us for a short while.

 

Les batailles de boules de neige peuvent être redoutables!!!

The snow balls fights can be quite dangerous!!!

J'ai utilisé une partie du kit carterie de Scrapdeco, en particulier les papiers Hello Winter de Echo Park. Quelle belle collection! J'ai ajouté des tampons Hero Arts en deux couleurs d'encres puis des embellissements glanés à gauche à droite...

I used partly the Scrapdeco's new card kit, Hello Winter by Echo Park papers in particular. What a great collection! I've also added Hero Arts stamps in two ink colors and various embellishments...
