Guest designing for Stuck?!Sketches

Hello!

Hello! My layout made for mid-January sketch challenge over at Stuck?!Sketches got me the Guest Designer invitation for the 15th of March sketch reveal. Here's the sketch:

And here's my layout. I took out some old pics of my daughter from 5 years ago (How come? 5 already???) who was discovering some cotton candy. I've added some washi tape, stamps (for the background, not well visible), some punched/die-cut shapes and some small odds and ends.

The paper comes from an old paper pad by Lawn Fawn, the wood saying is from Studio Calico, butterfly punches and die-cuts - Martha Stewart and Penny Black.

And that face is 100% my dd!!! :)

Cadeaux / Gifts

Bonsoir!

Hello! After two cards and a mini album, I'm back with a layout. Since I made the "Everything" layout, those old BG papers were on my mind. Just couldn't put them back and had to make another layout, obviously with a Christmas theme. As for the layout itself, I based mine on Becky Fleck's sketch found on Scrapbooks & Cards Today. Here it is:

And here's the layout. I replaced the hexagons by pieces of torn paper and added some bling to them.

If I can offer you a tip: when you print your text, think about changing its color and adapt it to colors already present in papers you use. Here, I changed the black to brown. And since I also used a patterned paper to print my journaling, I find the text looks more natural this way.

Merci de votre passage et à bientôt!

Thanks for visiting and see you soon!

Another sketch

Hi there! I saw this sketch first on the blog of Kathy Martin since she did the guest designing for it. It comes from Jen Gallacher's class Stretch Your sketch on Two Peas. And I was immediately drawn to it by this big journal part on the right portion of the sketch. Here it is:

I adapted it to my needs and made a 8,5'' x 11'' version. I had a topic on hand, my son's motivation for doing things since he started school. I used a picture I took of him on the first day of school. But I put my journaling somewhere else, on top of the picture. For this bottom part I used this fabulous stamp from Hero Arts.

I made a banner from Sticky Back Canvas, inked them and sewn them to layout.

I also included pictures of my son's art work.

I guess you can say that I'm one proud, happy Mama... :) See you!

All good things...

... come to an end. Hello friends! Yes, that's true, there' an end to everything, also the this great sketch series over at Ella's blog. Here's, if I got it right, the last sketch by the talented Donna Jannuzzi:

What appealed to me most was that bigger part with journaling in the top corner and title on the bottom. And I decided to use all spaces for pictures, especially that we just had another *multi* photos event. We went to Europa Park. And there were several things I realized. Like that a little paint could make my son so happy, that we would all have so much fun, and that I'd love to go back there one day...
I've added some pieces of paper here and there and the title became a bit longer. A also used stamps from myStamp Box's set Snapshot, a very useful set for any layout! :)

So, I'll miss this series of sketches but I'm sure they will come up with something cool again!

I have a thing for twine!

Hello good people! Here's a confession: I do have a thing for twine lately! Since I've finally got my hands on some of that product, I want to incorporate it in almost everything! And of course, I have a thing for sketches, especially when it comes to scrapping many pictures at a time. So when I saw that sketch by Donna Jannuzzi on Ella's blog, I knew I could finally attack those Zoo pics! Here's the sketch:

Every time we go to the zoo this happens: I take zillions of pictures and never have the courage to do anything with them. And I know why! For this layout it took me something like two hours to select, crop and print those pics (with me knowing the size they had to be). And I won't even mention trimming! But fortunately I will learn something in the process and next time I'll find my courage to tackle the subject of multiple photos events.

Enough of the talk, here's my take on the sketch that I had to stretch a little! :) I told you, many pictures! In order to fit a good part of them on those pages I mirrored the sketch, altered some pictures sizes and embellished it all...

Page 1:

Page 2:

The only animal stamp set I have is the one by Artemio, a belgium company.
As for the title I went with this cool alphabet set by myStamp Box that's called Royal Flush. With a little background touch of Back to the Basics set.

One more close up:

Thanks for sticking with me that long. And thanks Donna for your fantastic and inspiring sketches!

Project 12 - March

Hello! I'm back with another Project 12 installment. Here's Becky Fleck's sketch for the month of March:

Here's my take on it. As for the two previous months I used SRM month stickers. I even sited one of them on our new couch! :) As for the papers, their choice was somehow guided by the color of the stickers. And in my stash I've found this Bella Boulevard Swing into Spring collection.

The left page came about in a whip. I've added one more picture to the layout, stickers, flowers for the border and that's it!

As for the 2nd part of the sketch I had to alter some more things since I had too much to say and my couch picture was too big (which was another addition to the original sketch). As for the stitching around the whole layout, this time around I decided to change things a bit. Since I've already stitched the papers, so I've simply stamped a border with myStamp Box stamps.

Now, as for the story, well, we had another birthday in our family (my husband's), my son was invited for the first time to a friend's birthday party, there was a show in our church, we've installed the sand on our balcony, we've received our new couch and were the first ones to maw the lawn in our quarter! The great weather continues (they're talking even about the draught already!!!) and I've started gathering the story and pictures for the month of April. I even know which one will be on the layout for sure. Greetings from Switzerland, again! :)

Card Patterns #96

Hello!

Hello! It's Christmas! And it's also the new Card Patterns sketch time...

Here's my card made with a digital stamp by Prickley Pear. I also used those beautiful BG papers.

Matériel: cdc Migros; papiers BG; tampon digi Prickley Pear; Stickles Ranger; machine à coudre

A bientôt!

It's my last card for CP as a DT member. It was a great experience! But all good things come to an end. It's time for other (very talented!!!) girls to take over. And I wish you a very merry Christmas! See you soon!

Une évidence / An evidence

Bonsoir!

Hello! Tonight's card became an evidence once I've combined the PDCC color combo...

...with Amy's sketch. It was the first one in her Christmas series and ever since I've seen it for the first time, I was thinking about that swooping line.

And finally I've found the solution. The picture is very bad, the sky was all cloudy when I took it but I can assure that the yellow is much more splashy in real life! Even if I've chosen to use glitter on that star, again... :) And it will go for the Moxie Fab World's challenge, again!

That's one of the things I've learned this year: you can adhere glitter (and other things) with Glossy Accents, it's perfect! And since this card is made with myStamp Box stamps, here's a giveaway alert: you can win a stamp set on the company's blog! Hurry up!

I've taken new pictures to better show the colors. Not sure if I succeeded...

On gèle... / We're cold...

Bonsoir!

Hello! No tutorial tonight so here's a quick post!

I played again with one of Amy's sketches that you can find HERE. Instead of a star, I put there two leaves stamped and smeared with Frosted Lace Stickles. I wanted them to as if they were picked from the floor on a cold winter morning. And apparently, I can't live without glitter anymore! :)

Matériel: cdc Migros, cardstock Bazzil; tampons HA et myStamp Box; encres Ranger et Clearsnap; Stickles Ranger; ruban Casa; glitter Knorr & Prandell

Et de nouveau, 3 défis en un / And again, 3 challenges in one:

A bientôt!

See you soon!

D'une pierre trois coups... / 3 in 1

Hello!

Hello! I'm back with another card and a short tutorial. As said in the previous post, there's no time to waste, so here is a how-to cover a digital image (or any other one) with glitter.

Here's a digital image printed and colored that was supposed to be cut out as is. But I changed my mind and covered it with double sided adhesive...

... pour la découper ensuite...

... to cut it out next...

... et la saupoudrer de glitter.

... and cover it entirely with glitter.

Voilà le résultat.

Here's the result.

And here's the card. For the panel, I "inked" a background stamp using glue pad, stamped and added glitter, too.

Matériel: cdc Migros; tampons et image digi HA; encres et Stickles Ranger; glue pad Tsukineko; glitter Knorr & Prandell; punch Fiskars; ruban Migros; gel pen Sakura; yeux mobile

Cette carte va pour trois défis:
1) Hero Arts - une touche de brillant
2) Moxie Fab World - Glitter is glam

Bonne nuit!

This card goes for three challenges:
1) Hero Arts - adding shine
2) Moxie Fab World - Glitter is glam

Here's for tonight. I'll try to post another glittery idea very soon! Have a good night!

Un bon sketch II / A good sketch II

Today, I have something a bit more serious to show you. A layout (!) made according to a sketch I found on the Twisted Sketches blog. But I will not make this post heavier since it's Summer, hot etc, etc...

Le sketch / The sketch:

Ma page / My layout (about the big love declarations my son makes to me while sitting on the "throne": Mommy I love you! Although I'm disconcerted about the circumstances, these 4 little words are a sweet music to my ears!):

Matériel: papiers Bazzil et AC; alphabets AC et Toga; tampon Autumn Leaves; encre Tsukienko; brads et badge AC; papier musique

Bonne journée d'été!

Have a nice summery day!

Où commence le jeu / Where the fun beggins

Bonjour!

Hello! This is the first one! Yes, my first card for the Card Patterns DT! I'm a bit nervous... Well yes, the girls that were on the team before were so talented that it's hard to measure up to them! But I'll do my best. First, here's the new sketch #71:

For my card, I used one of the images from this week's sponsor, Prairie Fairy Designs. When I saw this tea pot, it made me think about the china that one of my husband's grand-mothers painted. Now she's 95 and I think that she doesn't do this anymore. But we have at home some of her vases, cups and a plate with family's arms. And there's always a touch of gold...

A bientôt!

I hope you like this first card! And for more inspiration, as well as to participate, please visit the Card Patterns blog! See you soon!

I could fix my latest post on myStamp Box blog and now all images are visible. So if you feel like a short stroll, please click HERE!

I should add that my card from yesterday is for a friend who got her exams results, brilliant results after a training that she completed lately...
