Hello! Dernièrement il y a une petite bataille à la maison. Oui, pour les empreintes que les enfants laissent sur les vitres toutes propres... Je pense que le problème ne vous est pas étranger! Mais tout ceci peut être inspirant. Une de nos cousine a mis au monde un bébé, troisième enfant dans la tribu. Enfin une fille! D'ici quelque temps elle aussi va laisser des empreintes partout dans la maison, en suivant ses frères. Et c'est justement ça que traduit ma carte pour elle...

Hello! Lately there's been a battle in our house. Yes, for the handprints that kids left on the clean windows... I guess the problem is not strange to you! But all this can be inspiring. One of our cousins gave birth to a little baby, third addition to their family. Finally a baby girl! In a little while she will also leave prints everywhere in the house, along her brothers. And that's what this card is all about...

Hello! Comment vont ces journées chaudes chez vous? Ici, on transpire bien. Mais tout de même il faut faire quelque chose. Et voici que j'ai même fais une deuxième page cette semaine! Si, si! Sur quelque chose qui s'est passé au mois de juin quand nous étions en France. C'est encore une page qui témoigne de l'affection qu'habite le petit coeur de mon fils pour sa copinette...

Hello! How are your hot days going? They make us sweat very much here. But that's not an excuse to make nothing, right? So here's the second layout I made this week! Yes, yes! It talks about something that happened in June while we were in France. One more witness layout that there's a special feeling in my son's little heart for this girl... (The journaling says: "In Bandol, you're eyes were fixed constantly on her. At every question you replied "Does Alexiane too?" And one day I had this dialog with you. Me: "I like Alexiane because it's your friend. But you, I love you!" You: "I love Alexiane!" I think we might say that this girl has a special place in your heart..."

Apprendre / Learning

Mais qu'est-ce qu'elle veut celle-là? Apprendre alors que l'école vient de se terminer?! Non mais??!! Eh bien, j'espère bien que vous êtes toujours à l'affût de nouvelles choses à apprendre, surtout en ce qui concèrne ce super hobby qu'est le scrap! La première leçon aujourd'hui est d'apprendre de mes essaie et erreurs. Et oui, ça m'arrive! Comme vous le savez peut-être, j'aime bien jouer avec le papier aquarelle, les encres Distress et l'eau mélangée à de la poudre Perfect Pearls. Jusque là j'avais un bloc de ce papier en qualité de 300g/m2. Je le trouvais un peu trop épais. Je viens d'en acheter deux autres blocs en qualité de 190g/m2, un peu plus fin. Je croayias faire une très bonne affaire, surtout qu'un d deux blocs est grand et irait à merveille sur une page de scrap. Mais voilà que je viens de l'essayer et c'est la decéption! Il pompe beaucoup trop l'encre (déjà au moment de l'embossage - l'image s'efface un peu) et surtout il absorbe à une vitesse folle l'eau. Du coup, je n'ai presque pas eu le temps de chauffer cette eau et de la faire ce ballader sur papier pour faire des jolis dessins. Conclusion: le papier plus épais sert mieux à cette technique! Comparaison ci-dessus:

What on Earth is she talking about? Learning while on vacation?! Is the Sun shining too hard on her head??!! Well, I hope you're always on the lookout for new things to learn, especially when it comes to our cool hobby! First lesson today is about learning from my tries and mistakes. As you may know, I love to play with watercolor paper, Distress inks and pearlized water. Till now, I mostly used a watercolor paper of 300g/m2 (140 lbs). I found it a bit too thick. I just bought two other pads of thinner paper, about 190g/m2. I thought it was a great deal since one of the pads is big enough to go on a layout. But I've just tried it and I'm disappointed! It absorbs very quickly the ink (already while embossing, the image is disappearing a bit) and most of all it takes water in very quickly! As a result, I almost didn't have time to heat it and make water go around to make nice streaks. Conclusion: the thicker paper is better for this technique! To compare, look here:


J'ai utilisé l'image à droite pour ma carte - elle apparaît un peu plus jaune sur la photo, je crois que c'est dû à l'effet brillant.

For my card I used the image on the right. It seems a bit more yellow in the picture, I believe it is because of the shine.

J'ai beaucoup aimé ces couleurs si belles et lumineuses. Alors même si je n'ai pas les mêmes encres, j'ai utilisé les encres Distress dans les teintes à peu près les mêmes, je les ai mélangées et coilà ce que ça donne:

I loved a lot this color palette, so beautiful and fair. And even though I don't have the same inks, I used my Distress inks in almost the same shades, mixed them and here's the result:

Bonjour! Aujourd'hui j'aimerai vous présenter les projets que j'ai fait en tant qu'invitée du mois chez SRM Stickers. Le thème de ce mois est "Voilà le soleil!" Le premier projet est une carte faite avec des tampons My Stamp Box. Qu'est-ce qu'on est content quand après des nombreuses journées le soleil fait enfin son apparition! C'est à quoi m'a fait penser ce gros embellissement que j'ai récupéré sur un emballage de chocolat. Longtemps j'ai hésité de le jeter mais au final il est plus joli sur une carte qu'au fond de la poubelle! :)

Hello! Today I'd love to show you the projects I made as a guest designer for SRM Stickers. This month's theme is "Here comes the Sun". The first project is a card made with My Stamp Box stamps. Everybody's always so happy when after a long cloudy time the sun comes back! That's what this big embellishment made me think of. I saved it from a chocolate package and I hesitated for quite a while whether to throw it away or not. Finally, I decided that it looked better on a card than in the dust bin! :)

Le projet suivant a attendu vraiment longtemps pour être terminé. J'ai commencé ce mini il y a presque un an quand j'ai vu une réa de Stéphanie Dagan dans un des numéro de l'Esprit Scrapbooking. J'ai voulu exprimer ma joie d'avoir une petite fille et le fait que tous mes préjugés fondaient comme la neige au soleil. J'ai fait la couverture... et depuis le mini traînait sur mon bureau. Je crois qu'il attendait tout simplement quelques beaux autocollants!

The next project waited quite a while to be finished. I started this mini album almost a year ago after seeing one by Stéphanie Dagan in the Esprit Scrapbooking magazine. I wanted to say all the joy that my daughter brings me and the fact that all my prejudices were melting as the snow in the sun. I made the cover... and since then the mini was somewhere on my desk. I think it was waiting for some great stickers! First comes the picture of the mini before finishing it.

Et voilà le dernier projet qui est une page consacrée à mes enfants. C'est une première page qui reunit les trois langues dont je me sers tous les jours: le polonais, le français et l'anglais. Le titre est en polonais et veut dire "mes petits soleils". D'où la bande de papier jaune avec les soleils que j'ai créée moi même. J'ai garni leurs milieux de petits autocollants et j'en ai ajouté d'autres diréctement sur les photos, ainsi qu'un court journaling à la main pour une touche personelle. Et pour le caractère spécial dans le titre (un "l" barré qui se prononce comme le "w" en anglais - comme j'aime vous donner des leçons de polonais, il y en a qui deviennent spécialistes!), j'ai coupé les pattes d'un "x" et je les ai ajoutées au "l" :)

And here's the final project which is a layout about my kids. It's the first layout that reunites the three languages I use almost every day: Polish, French and English. The title is in Polish and says "My little sunshines". That's why there's this home made sunny paper strip. I put some small stickers in sun's centers, some others directly on the pictures and added a hand written journaling for the personnal touch. In the title there's a special character, a traced "l" which is pronounced as the "w" in English (like in the word "water" - I love to give you Polish lessons!) To make it, I cut up an "x" and added to of its legs to my "l" :) The journaling says: "I could call you "Froggie" or "Shrimp" (funny French names for kids :)). But I call you "my little sunshines". Because from the day you were born, you bring joy and happiness into my life."

J'ai pensé que j'allais encore vous montrer les étapes consécutives de la création de cette bande de papier. Tout d'abord, il faut embosser à chaud avec la poudre blanche un tampon de votre choix sur du papier aquarelle. Puis, il faut ajouter des couleurs des encres Distress. Ici, la première, Scattered Straw.

Here is a short step by step of how to create this paper strip. First, you have to heat emboss with white embossing powder a stamp of your choice on a piece of a watercolor paper. Then, apply some Distress inks. Here is the first one, Scattered Straw.

Ensuite, ajoutez les autres couleurs. Je me suis servie de Mustard Seed et d'une petite touche de Spiced Marmelade.

Next, add other colors. I used Mustard Seed and a tiny touch of Spiced Marmelade.

L'étape prochaine est la meilleure à mes yeux! :) Sprayez le tout avec de l'eau mélangée avec de la poudre Perfect Pearls. Puis chauffez avec le pistolet à air chaud. C'est fini et ça brille à merveille!

The next and final step is the best from my point of view! :) Spritz the paper with water mixed with Perfect Pearls. And heat with the heat gun. It's finished and it sparkles beautifully!

Voici tous mes projets. C'était vraiment génial de travailler avec ces autocollants. Ils deviennent quasi invisible une fois collés sur du papier ce qui est très agréable. These are all my projects. It was really great to work with those stickers. They become almost totally invisible once sticked to paper and it is a great feature. Bonjour! Avez-vous eu un bon weekend? Le notre était sous le signe du rhume et de la pluie. Mais aussi sous le signe du scrap puisque c'était la journée internationale de scrapbooking hier! En plus, il y avait quelques surprises auxquelles je ne m'attendais pas du tout! Apparemment, j'ai emporté le gros prix sur le blog d'Ella pour leurs défis télé! Ce qui annonce quelques achats... ;-) Puis, en regardant la nouvelle galerie sur Write.Click.Scrapbook. j'ai vu qu'une de mes pages a été liftée par Moon Ko! Oui, c'est ça, LA Moon Ko dont je suis fan jusqu'au bout des ongles! Si ce n'est pas un cadeau ça! Vous pouvez voir sa page ICI.

Hello! Did you have a nice weekend? Ours was spent on wiping running noses and at home because of the rain. But there was also some scrapbooking since yesterday was the {inter}National Scrapbooking Day. Plus there were some surprises that I wasn't expecting. Like, it seems that I won the big prize over at Ella's blog for their TV challenges! Some shopping ahead! ;-) And, while browsing the new gallery over at Write.Click.Scrapbook, I saw that one of my layouts was lifted by Moon Ko! Yes, that's it, THE Moon Ko which I admire so! If this is not a gift!!! You can see her layout HERE.

Puis, ce scrap alors. J'ai commencé par une page dont l'idée me trottait dans la tête depuis un moment. Et finalement, je l'ai réalisée grace au défi de Hero Arts qui était de faire une page tout simplement! Comme défi personel, j'ai décidé de ne pas utilisé de papiers à motifs puis d'utilisé que des tampons et des encres. La page est entièrement en anglais à cause du titre qui se traduit par "Femme au foyer". Le journaling mentionne mes autres "rôles" que j'ai vécus jusqu'aujourd'hui et celui de "maman à la maison" est mon rôle courant. Voici ce que ça donne:

And the scrapping. I started by a layout. It's been a while since I had this idea in my head. And finally I made it thanks to Hero Arts' challenge which was simply to make a layout! As a personal challenge I decided to use only stamps and inks instead of patterned papers. It's entirely in English because that's just how I imagined it and because of the title. Here it is:

Comment ça se fait que plus proche est la date buttoir, plus j'ai des idées? Vraiment, ça à n'y rien comprendre! Hier soir j'ai terminé une carte, encore pour l'appel à la publication d'Embellish Magazine et en même temps pour le défi en cours de Lucy. J'étais convaincue que le défi se terminait aujourd'hui. Mais voilà que c'était hier soir!!! Alors j'ai pris des photos de ma cartes et honteusement je les ai publiées sur flickr parce que la qualité, oh la la! Et j'ai promis à Lucy que j'allais les mettre sur mon blog aujourd'hui. Ce que je vais faire de ce pas...

How come that the closer the deadline, the more ideas I have? I just can't get that! Yesterday night I finished another card for Embellish Magazine's publication call and wanted to enter at the same time the current Lucy's challenge. I was convinced the deadline was tonight. But no, it was yesterday's night!!! So, I took some very poor quality pictures and published them on flickr. And I promised to Lucy that I'd post some better ones today on my blog. Which I am about to do...

Et puisqu'on parle de Lucy, il faut dire que c'est vraiment quelqu'un d'incroyable! Pas seulement qu'elle fait des cartes merveilleuses mais aussi elle organise des défis, juste pour le fun. Puis, fait des petites surprises! Voilà que l'autre jour dans my boîte aux lettre j'ai trouvé une petite enveloppe avec des stickers SRM! Et puisque j'ai eu encore une idée de dernière minute pour le défi de SRM justement, ça ne pouvait pas mieux tomber!

Since we're talking about Lucy, it is just right to say that she's really an incredible person! Not only she makes most beautiful cards but also she makes some fun challenges. And, makes surprises! I found the other day in my mail box an envelope with some SRM stickers inside! And since I had another last minute idea for their current and almost finished challenge, it was just perfect!

Moxie Fab

Comment traduire ça?! Je me casse encore la tête dessus... Mais je vais peut-être tout simplement expliquer de quoi il s'agit? Si seulement j'étais en mesure!!! Mais en gros, c'est le blog de Cath, l'editeur créatif de Paper Crafts Magazine qui est a la recherche de tout ce qui est "moxie fab", original, qui inspire et qui est cool (j'ai pris cette description dans le profil de Cath donc elle doit être bonne!) Cath propose des défis avec des sketches ou ce qu'elle appelle "Tuesday Trigger", inspiration tirée de ce qui nous entoure. Et voilà que je viens de faire deux cartes pour ces deux défis. La première pour le sketch suivant:

I have some troubles translating this into French. But explaining it simply is sometimes best! So, for you who do not know what Moxie Fab is, I'll say that this is Cath's blog, who is a creative editor of Paper Crafts Magazine. She's always on the lookout for what's "moxie fab" which would be original, inspirational or cool (I took this description from her profile so it must be right!) Cath proposes sketch challenges or those she calls "Tuesday Trigger", something taken from what's around us to trigger our imagination. Today I'll show you two cards made for those two challenges, the first one to go with the following sketch:


Il m'a fait tout de suite penser à une télé dont s'élève une voix peut-être monotonne ou peut-être pas du tout! Manque de bol, je n'ai pas de telles images dans mes dossiers, ce qui m'a pussé à sortir mes crayons et me mettre au dessin. Heum, heum, yeux sensibles s'abstenir! ;-)

It made me think about a TV set and a monotonous voice going out of it (or just the contrary!). unfortunately I don't have any TV stamp or image in my files which made me take out my colored pencils and draw... If you're sensible, please don't look! ;-)

J'aime beaucoup ce tampon rond de My Stamp Box qui se trouve dans le set Funky Flowers! Je lui trouve plein d'utilité! Et je suis de plus en plus attirée par les cartes qui ont la suite de leur message à l'intérieur... Puis, sur cette carte je vois des cercles et un sticker et je me dis qu'elle va très bien pour le défi mensuel de SRM Stickers!N'est-elle pas belle la vie? Bon dimanche à tous!

I like a lot this round stamp by My Stamp Box which comes in the Funky Flowers set! I find it extremely useful! And I'm more and more interested in cards that have a part of their message inside... What's more, on this card I spy some circles and a sticker, and I think that it is perfect for the current SRM Stickers challenge! Isn't life beautiful? Have a nice Sunday!

Ca tourne rond! / Round and round...

Après toutes ces cartes faites dernièrement, je me pose la question suivante: sais-je encore faire une page?! Alors, j'en ai fais une hier pour répondre au défi de SRM Stickers: un projet avec des ronds. Pour inclure des ronds sur ma page, j'ai utilisé des stickers Kesi'art que je trouve super chouette mais jusque là j'ai eu de la peine à les utiliser. Voilà, le premier petit pas...

After all those cards made lately, I asked myself a question: do I still know how to make a layout?! And yesterday I made one for SRM Stickers challenge: a project with circles. To include circles on my layout I took some Kesi'art round stickers (one of them says "Freedom" and the other "The truth comes out of children's mouth". Explanation below :)). I find they are so cool but till now had troubles using them. That's the first step! (The journaling is about a visit we had of two great-grand-mothers the other day. They stayed for lunch and when I served it, my son asked: Why isn't it in the pots? Because well, normally I serve the food in pots rather than in serving dishes. But rest assured, we still eat in plates! :) So well, my son speaks his mind out loud and it was rather funny!)

En fait, j'en ai fais une autre page la semaine dernière selon le sketch de Nicole. J'aime beaucoup ses sketches et sa manière de scrapper en général. Donc je me suis régalée encore une fois!

In fact, I made another layout a week ago using Nicole's sketch. I love her sketches and her scrapping style in general. So I was happy to work on that sketch!

L'inspiration pour les titres n'est toujours pas revenue... Mais ua moins il y a des cartes qui naissent!!! En voilà une pour le défi de SRM stickers. Il fallait interpréter ce sketch:

J'ai eu toujours sur mon bureau ces restes de papiers Kaiser que j'ai reçu une fois et que j'ai utilisé sur CETTE page. Les couleurs sont parfaite pour une carte masculine. Peut-être que je la garderai pour quand mon garçon sera un peu plus grand? Puis, vous avez remarqué? AUCUN TAMPON!!! Incroyable! Pas de stickers SRM non plus, j'en ai pas encore. Mais j'espère bientôt en avoir. Parce qu'ils sont cool! A bientôt!
